Who we work with

Support for weight and metabolic health.

Whether you’re managing your weight, a diagnosis, or both, your care is built around your whole health picture. People usually come to us for:

  • Weight management

A realistic, sustainable approach — without crash diets or rigid rules.

  • High blood pressure

Practical nutrition strategies to help support healthy blood pressure.

  • High cholesterol

Nutrition strategies to help improve cholesterol and support heart health.

  • Pre-diabetes

Practical nutrition changes to support blood glucose and reduce future diabetes risk.

  • Type 2 diabetes

Ongoing nutrition support for blood glucose management and everyday eating.

  • Cardiometabolic health

Integrated nutrition support when several of the above overlap.

We also support insulin resistance, PCOS, fatty liver disease (MASLD), metabolic syndrome, perimenopause and menopause-related changes, and nutrition alongside medical weight-management treatment.

Your initial consultation

Starting with where you are now and where you want to get to.

Your initial consultation is 60 minutes, available in person at our Unley clinic in Adelaide, or via telehealth Australia-wide.

You don’t need to come in with all the answers. Shanti will guide the conversation and take the time to understand your health, goals, lifestyle and what has or hasn’t worked for you in the past.

Here’s what we’ll discuss during your initial consultation

  1. 01

    Understand your health and goals

Talk through your medical history, medications, relevant blood results, current health concerns and what you’d like to achieve.

  2. 02

    Explore your everyday nutrition

Look at your usual eating patterns, appetite, routines, movement, sleep and what a typical week looks like for you.

  3. 03

    Understand what’s happened before

Discuss what you’ve already tried, what has worked, what hasn’t, and any barriers that have made change difficult to maintain.

  4. 04

    Work out what matters most

Identify the areas most likely to make a meaningful difference and agree on the priorities to focus on first.

  5. 05

    Build your next steps together

Turn what we’ve discussed into clear, personalised recommendations that are realistic for your life.

Helpful to bring

Nothing is essential to bring. If you have any of these, they can be helpful — but we’ll cover everything in your initial consultation.

  • Recent relevant blood test results
  • A current list of relevant medications and supplements
  • Food diary
  • Any questions you’d like to discuss
What you’ll leave with

You’ll walk out knowing what to do next.

A good consultation should leave you feeling clearer, not more overwhelmed. By the end of your first appointment, you’ll have:

  • A personalised plan

Practical recommendations tailored to your health, goals, lifestyle and eating patterns.

  • Clarity on what matters most

A clearer understanding of the changes most likely to make a meaningful difference, so you’re not trying to change everything at once.

  • Practical changes you can start now

Realistic steps for everyday life — from meal structure and portions to eating out, busy weeks and social occasions.

  • A clear next step

We’ll agree on what happens next, including what to focus on and when to review your progress.

Follow-up consultations

Ongoing support, adjusted as your needs change.

Follow-up consultations give us space to check in on your progress, troubleshoot any challenges and adjust your plan as your health, goals and circumstances evolve.

In a follow-up consultation, we’ll:

  1. 01

Review what’s been working since your last appointment

  2. 02

Look at any barriers or challenges that have come up

  3. 03

    Adjust your recommendations where needed

  4. 04

Review relevant changes in weight, symptoms, blood results or medications

  5. 05

Decide what to focus on next

How often will I need follow-up appointments?

There’s no set number of appointments or fixed schedule. How often we meet depends on what you’re working on, how much support you need and how things are progressing.

We’ll decide together when your next appointment will be most useful and adjust the frequency as your needs change.

It largely comes down to personal preference — most clients choose fortnightly appointments, with monthly the next most common.

There’s no lock-in and no predetermined number of appointments — care continues for as long as it’s useful to you.
